Renée Fowler
Renee was born at Waiora House in Taupo. Renee took up the game of golf in 1989 after a chance meeting of a Springfield (Rotorua) Golf club member who identified Renee had potential to do well. Within 6 months of playing Renee had her first taste of success at a NZ under 21-year tournament. This was all the motivation needed. Renee was then driven to improving her golf.
Success through golf allowed Renee to travel both nationally and internationally. She represented New Zealand as an amateur for 7 consecutive years attaining No 1 for New Zealand before turning Professional. A highlight for Renee was being a member of the 1999 NZ team who played the Queen Sirikit Cup when it was held at Paraparaumu NZ. The team of Tina Howard (Taupo) Renee and Lisa Alridge won the event for NZ after a playoff with Korea. Playing in the USA, Europe and Australia was halted when Renee sustained an injury that continues to plague her to this day. Renee had always enjoyed teaching so she began teaching working in Australia and Germany before being encouraged to return to home to New Zealand.
Renee loves the challenge of teaching beginners, experienced golfers and those who have physical challenges.
In her spare time Renee plays guitar, enjoys redecorating and mountain biking. Renee is an avid Speed Golfer who professes to LOVE SPEED GOLF.

"I started with a 46 handicap which gradually came down to 38, so just before Christmas 2018, while I was passing through Taupo, I arranged a series of three morning lessons with Renee again. Since then I have continued to improve, always trying to think of how Renee would encourage me to make the right move and feel comfortable and confident with it. I even won a couple of competitions! In the last year my handicap has dropped to 24.0 and I am enjoying golf more than ever." K Parker
